Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to review the newest cartoon series by Genndy Tartakovsky and its Primal.

The series follows a caveman who is called Spear and a female Tyrannosaurs who is called Fang, who both lost their families and now team up to travel the vast open-world they live in and have one goal and its to survive. We see in the 5 episode season a vast world of which Spear and Fang live in and somehow find a way to co-exist with each other and kill who stands in their way to live and at what cost. We see them fight off snakes, woolly mammoths, huge bats, a giant spider and a tribe of blood lust ape-men.

Genndy Tartakovsky has somehow re-invented the cartoon wheel again with Primal, not only did he create a world that is unlike his other works, but the story that was 100 percent minimalist. The way both Spear and Fang communicate with each other with no dialogue is a sight to be seen, no words at all, just an understanding for one another at any given moment throughout this season. The art style and color pallet used in Primal is wonderful, the music and sounds also are done very well here as well.

This series is by far the best cartoon series of 2019 and if possible Genndy Tartakovsky could make a season 2 down the road. Be warned this series is not for the little ones.
