Ahoy Captain Cats here and I have some sad news to report.

USGAMER first reported that the Writers Guild of America or WAG for short has dropped their game writing award for their upcoming 2020 awards. A spokesperson from WGA released a statement about this:

“There won’t be a Videogame Writing Award in 2020; however, the category will be reinstated when there is a critical mass of videogames covered by the WGA in order to provide a meaningful award selection process.” – WGA Spokesperson

Since then some famous video game writers and had shared their thoughts on the topic such as Half-Life and Portal writer Chet Faliszek and Mortal Kombat 11 writer Shawn Kittelsen.

Last year’s winner of the award was God Of War and also no word on if they will bring this back after the 2020 awards.
