Ahoy Captain Cats here and today is a round of cartoon news round up.

Last week was Freddie Mercury’s birthday, and he would have been 73 this year. The lead singer for the British band Queen passed away at the age of 45 in 1991 due to complications from AIDS. Twenty-eight years later, an animated music video was released, not only to honor Mercury but to bring awareness to how AIDS work. The four-minute video is called “Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow” and it’s a must-watch.

Black Women Animate and Cartoon Network Studios are teaming up again for the second annual Black Women Animate Boot Camp. Just like last year this event is to help and support professional black women, women of color and nonbinary creatives of color in providing the right resources and access they need to get work in this industry and so much more. The BWA Bootcamp will take place on October 12 of this year at the Cartoon Network Studios in Los Angeles. To get your tickets, you can click on the link here.

Netflix just released a trailer to the second part to Disenchantment. It will pick up where the first part left off, and I hope it will also keep that momentum it had in the last three episodes of the first part and keep it going. Disenchantment part 2 will be on Netflix on September 20. All I ask is that The Robot Devil shows up with a song and dance.

There you go, that’s your cartoon news round up.
