Ahoy Captain Cats here and today I’m going to talk about Gamescom. Gamescom starts this week, and it’s going to be an exciting week, so I’m going to list some of the things I want to see this week at Gamescom.

  • Sony – This is the first time Sony made their first public appearance at any convention this year. Sony skips both GDC and E3 this year, and now we see what they were up to this year and who knows maybe we might get some information about the PS5 and more.
  • Sega – With the upcoming release of the Sega Genesis mini and with Phantasy Star Online 2 next year, Sega will be releasing new games and hopefully, maybe a Saturn and Dreamcast mini announcement?
  • Google Stadia– Google will be doing another online Stadia Connect during Gamescom. I’m still not convinced about it, so I hope they give more answer than question.
  • Gamescom Opening Night Live – This is the first time they will be doing this in this convention’s history. With 16 major studio and independent studios will be showing off numerous world premieres, this could be the what could kill off E3 if done right.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 – CD PROJECT RED will be once again the talk of the town with its upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077. We know they will release another gameplay footage, but with PAX West coming right after Gamescom we might have to wait a bit longer for it.

Gamescom starts this week from August 20-24, and we’ll try to bring you every breaking news we can.
