Yo Ho! Nightrider here! Last year, I posted a report about a summer concert in Japan that caught my attention: Fuji Rock Festival 2018. Apart from watching Johnny Marr performing, I discovered different alternative bands like Mitsume.

While recharging from the monster that was the San Diego Comic-Con International, I then found out that I missed the Fuji Rock Festival 2019 Edition on Youtube! I spent the last few days playing catchup to see what I missed. I missed a considerable amount of performances, and yet, like SDCC, I can’t take in all the sights.

The Festival has gotten even more significant than last year with 16 stages and their respective lineups. As I saw the lineups, it was indeed bigger than last year’s Festival. For example, on the Green Stage, you would have Janelle Monáe for Friday, July 26, Sia on Saturday, July 27, and The Cure on Sunday, July 28. While this is happening, one can see Mitsuki perform on the Red Marquee while The Waterboys perform on the Field Of Heaven. So many performers on so many stages! At the end of the Festival, a reported 130,000 people were in attendance from the pre-party on Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28.

This year’s Fuji Rock Festival took place from July 26 to July 28 at the Naeba Ski Resort, Yuzawa-Cho in Niigata Prefecture in Japan. Next year’s dates are August 21 to August 23, 2020. So now there’s something to do if you can’t make it to the Tokyo Olympics in 2020!
