Ahoy me matey Captain Cats here, and today we are going to talk about everything we know so far about the Sega Genesis Mini, well so far

Sega announced at last week’s Sega Fes 2019 that they will release the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive in other parts of the world and Japan) mini in September of this year. As of know, this is what we know so far about what will it come and have inside:

The Sega Genesis mini, HDMI cable, power cable with a USB adapter, and two wired controllers.

Sega also announced that it will contain 40 games and will be handle by M2, who is best known for handling emulation of re-released games. As of now we only know 10 out of the 40 games that will be on the Sega Genesis mini they are:

  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Toe Jam & Earl
  • Castlevania: Bloodlines
  • ComixZone
  • Space Harrier 2
  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Shining Force
  • Altered Beast
  • Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
  • Gunstar Heroes

Not a bad line up so far, especially with Castlevania: Bloodlines, Shining Force and Gunstar Heroes; hopefully Sega picks the other 30 wisely and doesn’t do what Sony did with the PlayStation Classic and put a lot of games no one likes at all. The Sega Genesis mini will go for $79.99 on release date.
