Captain Cats here with sad news to report. Last week Disney closed a $71.3 billion acquisition for Fox on Tuesday and Thursday they started to clean house.

According to Variety that the layoffs are on all levels, which included 20th Century Fox Film president of domestic distribution Chris Aronson. Aronson had this to say in the following statement:

“It has been an honor and a privilege to lead the domestic distribution team, which I consider to be the gold standard in the business. While I am disappointed not to continue, I look forward to starting a new chapter in this business during this exciting time of change.” – Chris Aronson

It is said that the layoff could be around 4,000 to 10,000 depending on each department and we don’t know what else is going to happen to Fox, will they be re-branded or just be swallowed up and never to be heard from again. Only time will tell.

Update: Disney has started to purge 20th Century Fox TV division by letting go their president of that section and other big wigs and staffers as well. According to Variety a lot of staffers were bracing for a “Lord of the Flies” Situation within the next coming months. I think in the end this wasn’t such a good ideal at all to begin with.
