Ahoy me mateys Captain Cats here. Last Friday DCU released the first episode of its highly anticipated new series DOOM PATROL or DP for short, and it did not disappoint at all.

As the review stated that this is the pilot episode and this was done great. If you never read any of the DP comics or have no ideal who they are, don’t worry because this episode does a beautiful job introducing you to their world. You see who each of the members are and how they came to be in flashbacks, all which were done so good and well paced. The pilot was written by Jeremy Carver, who worked on Supernatural and Being Human. The setting and tone for the series are great for what it is, a team of superheroes who are outcast and freaks in the eye of society, and yet they do what they can to save the world, one crazy, bizarre adventure at a time. The cast of the series is spot on and embrace what the DP is, the cast for DP is as follow:

  • Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane
  • April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman
  • Matt Bomer as Negative Man
  • Brendan Fraser as Robotman
  • Timothy Dalton as Dr. Niles Caulder aka The Chief
  • Alan Tudyk as Mr. Nobody

Everyone in the cast is on point with each character, but if I had to pick which ones standout the most, it has to be Guerrero and Fraser. Guerrero did a great job as Jane, and we do see some of her 64 personalities and I can’t wait to see more and Fraser’s Robotman is very human and yet humble, while in flashbacks he has a different character all around.

I think DP is going to be a lot better than Titans and I can’t wait to see this 15 episode run. Also, I wouldn’t recommend watching this with your kids at all; this one is 100% for adults.
