Today on Underground music I’m going to be talking about an artist who has been the best-kept secret for the past three years and that artist is Yaeji.
Yaeji is a Korean-American musician who mixes house and hip hop music while singing in a very mellow vocal in both English and Korean. Within just two years she released albums in the same year which are EP and EP2.
EP was released in March of 2017, under the Godmode Label and this album is a must listen. It has a lo-fi house vibe to it, and it sounds perfect, take a listen to New York 93 and Noonside. The album runs under 20 minutes and is available via digital download.
Her second album, EP2 was released in November of 2017, and it had a house trap vibe to it. This album sounds very emotional driven with some of the songs were heartfelt and sad. The songs on this albums you must listen to are Drink I’m Slippin On, Raingurl, and a beautiful cover of Drake’s Passionfruit. EP2 is also available via digital download and runs just under 20 minutes as well.
With 2019 just started, do yourself a huge favor and listen to Yaeji and all of her music.
