Ahoy me mateys Captain Cats here! Today I’ll be reviewing unnatural #4 and see what happens to our favorite pig girl.

We see a flashback to when Leslie and Trish first met in college. Not too long after we are at the present where we look at Leslie being interrogated about the death of Trish, and you see some photos on the desk. Then we see Trish’s parents crying at her grave while we see Leslie and Derek look from afar and Leslie crying as well due to she didn’t say goodbye to her best friend. Few panels we see a jail cell with cops looking for clues on what happened. We see Leslie talking to her pet Pif, and Derek comes in, and they both go to bed together, and we see Leslie dreaming again with her Wolf. They share a romantic moment until her dream wolf pulls a Bela Lugosi on her, and we see that she is harming herself in the real world and back in the dream world she attacks her dream wolf. She goes to the bathroom, and she sees her dream wolf there, and it is like a scene from A Beautiful Mind, she doesn’t believe if its real or not. Soon after a heated exchange of words, we find out that a secret group got to Derek and made him spy on Leslie. Out of the blue, we see Derek get shot in the head by none other than Jones and soon after someone shows up and save her. It turns out to be the wolf from Leslie’s dreams, and she is scared to go with him, and at the end we see someone in a Shaman get up saying they are going to make her life a living hell.

WOW JUST WOW. From start to finish this issue it was a roller coaster of emotions. What got to me was seeing how Trish died via the pictures and Derek shot in the head out of nowhere. The pacing was great, the art was wonderful, and the ending made me feel for Leslie more now than ever. This was the end of the First story arc, and I’m delighted with this series so far like I said before it’s a breath of fresh air and I just cant wait to read the next story arc December. If you haven’t read this series, you are in luck; next month Image will be coming out with TP of issues 1-4 titled Unnatural Vol. 1: Awakening on November 21, while issue 5 will be out on December 5th.
