Ahoy Me Mateys Captain Cats here! With so many new “retro” console coming out, such as the nes mini, NeoGeo mini, the Arcade 1up and so on. Now a new player has enter the ring in this market with its “All in One” system, Polymega.

The Polymega is created by Playmaji, Inc. According to Playmaji, they are a California based company that develop, produce, and manufacture video game related products for new and retro game consoles. As the trailer stated, it will be compatible with over system and its region free. These systems are as follow:

  • Sony Playstation1 ( NA version, PAL version, Japanese version)
  • Sega Genesis ( NA version, PAL version, Japanese version)
  • Sega Genesis 32X ( NA version, PAL version, Japanese version)
  • Sega CD ( NA version, PAL version, Japanese version)
  • Sega 32XCD ( NA version, PAL version Japanese version)
  • PC ENGINE ( NA version, 2 Japanese version)
  • PC ENGINE CD ROM ( NA version, Japanese version)
  • NEO GEO CD ( NA version, Japanese version)
  • NES ( NA version, PAL version)
  • SNES ( NA version, PAL version, Japanese version)
  • Sega Saturn ( NA version, PAL version, Japanese version)

Now here is my two bits on this console system:

  1. The Sega Saturn. It will be the first time since Sega discontinued the system back in 2000 that it will be available. I don’t know if they can pull it off with the Saturn and I would be very disappointed if it just an emulator and not a very good one.
  2. PRICE! This console is going for $250 and that is just the base unit! The base unit will ONLY play PS1, NEO GEO CD, Sega CD, PC ENGINE CD and the Sega Saturn. If you want the other system you need to spend an additional 60 per kit!

If I were you, I would pass on this. Also it is not even fully funded so there is a chance it could flop before its even created.

So what do you think of this system, are you going to get one? Let us know in the comments below!
