Ahoy Me Mateys Captain Cats here! Earlier this year DC launch a new imprint with was called DC Black Label. DC Black Label is Vertigo Comics but using DC superheroes and villains, and these stories are outside of current continuity within the DC Universe. The list of books that will be release under this imprint and the teams who are doing them is nothing less but pure gold. Here is the list of the books that will be releasing under DC Black Label:

  • Superman: Year One- Written by Frank Miller and art done by John Romita Jr.
  • Batman: Last Knight on Earth- Written by Scott Snyder and art done by Greg Capullo
  • Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons- Written by Kelly Sue DeConnick and art done by Phil Jimenez
  • Wonder Woman story written by Greg Rucka
  • The Other History of the DC Universe written by John Ridley

That is a hell of a launch for DC Black Label, but there is one book that got me excited, and that is Batman: Damned. Written by Brian Azzarello and art done Lee Bremejo, this book will be a bimonthly super-natural horror story, and the synopsis for the book makes it sounds fantastic:

The Joker is dead.

There is no doubt about that. But whether Batman finally snapped his scrawny neck or some other sinister force in Gotham City did the deed is still a mystery.

Problem is, Batman can’t remember…and the more he digs into this labyrinthian case, the more his mind starts to doubt everything he’s uncovering.

So who better to set him straight than…John Constantine? Problem with that is as much as John loves a good mystery, he loves messing with people’s heads even more. So with John’s “help,” the pair will delve into the sordid underbelly of Gotham as they race toward the mind-blowing truth of who murdered The Joker.

Batman:Damned will have a release date of September 19 of this year and ill do a review of it once it’s released.
