Warhammer 40,000: Marneus Calgar Issue 1 Review

Ahoy Captain Cats here and today we are going to look at Marvel Comic’s first time telling a Warhammer40,000 (WH40k for short from here on out) story and that story is about Marneus Calgar.

The comic starts with a bang as you see Calgar just killing the enemy army by himself. From here on out you see him talking about his past while dealing with enemy troops. During the issue, you get bits and pieces of what the WH40K universe is like and give you information so you won’t feel lost but after reading the information the readers might feel lost. This series is being written by Kieron Gillen and the artwork is done by Jacen Burrows and it’s alright so far.

The biggest question that will come into mind is do you need to know anything about the WH40K universe before reading this and the answer is no. This series feels like a good starting point if you want to get a good idea of what is WH40K is all about and trust me it’s not pretty. If this peeks your mind and or interest, give this series a read and I don’t recommend this series to the little ones due to its over-the-top violence.
