Blizzard Shot Themselves In The Foot…..Again
The opening for Blizzcon started with Blizzard President J. Allen Brack stating an apology to its community about how they handle the suspension of Heartstone pro player Chung “Blitzchung” Ng Wai on his comments about Pro Hong Kong. He stated the following:

“We moved too quickly in our decision making and then to make matters worse, we were too slow to talk to all of you. When I think about what I’m most unhappy about, it’s mostly two things. First, we didn’t live up to the high standards we set for ourselves.The second is that we failed in our purpose. For that, I’m sorry, and I accept accountability.” – Blizzard President J. Allen Brack

Gamers Protests for a Free Hong Kong Outside Blizzcon
Outside of the Anaheim Convention Center, a huge crowd of protesters wearing either “Mei With Hong Kong” or “Free Hong Kong” shirts and showing how they felt with Blizzard and the choices they made within the past few months. Many believe that Blizzard phoned it in with the apology and went straight to the games. Many fans of Blizzard are in talks of boycotting the company in terms of stop supporting the company and canceling their subscription to WoW and other games.

Four Gaming Announcements
This year Blizzard went all-in after what happened with last year’s lackluster announcements and did they went all in. Here are the Four Trailers for the games they announced over the weekend:

A New Champion of Heartstone made History
To end on a good note, Heartstone pro player Xiaomeng “VKLiooon” Li of China became the first woman ever to win at Blizzcon at the Heartstone GrandMasters 2019 Global Finals. Li had this to say after her historic win:

“I want to say for all the girls out there who have a dream for esports competition, for glory, if you want to do it and you believe in yourself, you should just forget your gender and go for it.” – Xiaomeng “VKLiooon” Li

So another year is in the books for Blizzard, but it remains to be seen if they can stop shooting themselves in the foot to the point they don’t have anything left of a foot to shoot.
