Ahoy me mateys Captain Cats here. Over the past few days Samsung and Huawei both showed off there foldable phones to the world, yes you read it foldable phones. So here is a mini break down on both phones.

Samsung Galaxy Fold – Samsung presented the Galaxy Fold the company’s first ever foldable phone/tablet. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Fold will be available in the U.S. Via AT&T and T-Mobile on April 26 of this year for $1,980. It will come with the newest Android OS which is Pie (9.0) and will have 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB memory but no MicroSD slot, and six cameras. The Galaxy Fold will be able to run three apps at the same time with no slowdown at all.

Huawei Mate X – Huawei also released its foldable phone with the Mate X. According to The Verge, Huawei was showing off the phone at MWC but gave little to none information about what is it running on and what it can and can’t do. It looks great, but looks can be deceiving.

So now begs the question, are they worth it? The answer is no, they look nice and are pushing the concept of what is a mobile device, but for $2000 for a phone, I don’t think so.
